I first noticed my receding hairline when I was 20 years old. In the beginning I thought nothing of it. I was getting older and took it to be a part of life. I didn’t think hair loss would affect who I was.
At the age of 22, I became self-conscious about my hairline. It didn’t help my confidence when people pointed out my thinning hair. Though people only say it as a joke and think nothing of it, and at the time you may see the humour. Eventually it starts to play on your mind.
A friend of mine was taking peoples photos and editing them to have bald heads, this was all meant as harmless fun, as he him self has little hair.
I was growing a small afro as a bit of fun:
I my self found this photo hilarious at the time, then as time went on it was more of a constant reminder of what I would actually look like.
As my hair started falling out in my hands whilst putting products into it, I decided to look into how I could keep my hair for longer.
